建水因每年夏秋两季水泛滥而得名。

建水作为一座古城，已有1200多年的历史。

建水自然资源丰富，有锰、铁、铅锌、铜等。锰的排放储量占全国的三分之一。

Besides, Jianshui is devoted to developing local handicrafts, among which Jianshui earthenware is the most well known as it is one of the four celebrated potteries in China.
