Picked up from your hotel in Beijing and transferred to Beijing Railway Station. You are arranged to take the morning 3-hour train ( soft sleeper ) from Beijing to Zhangjiakou. Arriving at Zhangjiakou South Railway Station, you are met by our English speaking tour guide in Zhangjiakou. 220km north of Beijijng, Zhangjiakou was historically a vital north gate of Beijing with strategical importance. Once low profile and often neglected, Zhangjiakou is now in the limelight, which is mainly caused by two factors 1) Beijing Zhangjiakou Highspeed trains will be put into operation in 2017; 2) Beijing with Zhangjiakou bids for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games.
Arriving at Zhangjiakou South Railway Station, met by our English speaking tour guide and drive directly to Zhangbei Bashang Grassland. North of Zhangbei County in Zhangjiakou, Bashang is the nearest prairie destination to Beijing, located about 240 kilometres from Beijing. The special climate and geographical position at the junction of the Inner Mongolia Grasslands and the North China Plain give Bashang its unique natural landscapes and make it a popular destination for tourists visiting Zhangjiakou. Bashang is one of the most ideal sites to escape the hustle and bustle in city life. Visitors can enjoy the beauty of the stretch of grasslands as well as riding horses freely on the grassland. In addition to that, activities like camel riding, shooting, archery and campfire parties are also available here.
The following activities are included in your package:
1. Zhangbei Wind Farm (风电主题公园): 20km west of the county seat of Zhengbeia, it is a theme park built in a transparent glass screens designed to publicize the general knowledge of wind energy. Ascending the sightseeing hall and people can have a glimpse of the forest of wind turbines dancing under the azure sky.
2. Zhengbei Flower Fields & Grass Sea (花田草海): 70km northwest of the seat of Zhangbei County, Zhengbei Flower Field & Grass Sea is a key eco-project sponsored by the local government. The eco-project is composed of the planting of yellow rape-flower and sunflower, white potato flower, purple sesame flower, lavenders, and azalea, which constitute unique sea of flower and grass with the backdrop of the nearby hills,valleys and villages.
3. Grassland Amuseument Park(草原游乐场): You will spend 2 hours on the grassland amusement park (Note: you have to pay the activities you are going to take part in such horse riding, archery and grass motorbikes)
4. Zhongdu Grassland (中都原始草原):Zhongdu Grassland is a part of Bashang Grassland, the nearest prairie destination to Beijing, located about 240 kilometres from northern Beijing. The special climate and geographical position at the junction of the Inner Mongolia Grasslands and the North China Plain give Bashang its unique natural landscapes and make it a popular destination for tourists visiting Zhangjiakou. You will be arranged to pay tribute to Aobao and watch the equestrian performance. Note: our package is exclusive of horse riding, archery and gliding.
5. Dinner over a mega Mongolian singing and dancing performance.
6. After dinner, watch bonfire and local traditional playing of tree flower show.
