Kunming 3 Day Tour

Arrive at Kunming by flight or train ( tickets prepared on your own), met by our English speaking tour guide and transferred to our prearranged hotel. You are at leisure for the remainder of the day.

After breakfast at your hotel, take a private car or van to Dianchi Lake, about 11km to the southwest of Kunming city center. Dianchi Lake is a highland limestone lake, and the largest freshwater lake in Yunnan, covering an area of about 300 square kilometers.

Then move on to Qiongzhu Temple, or Bamboo Temple, is a Buddhist temple situated on Yu'an Mountain to the northwest of Kunming. The temple is well known for exhibiting five hundreds painted arhat sculptures.

Return to the city center to visit Yunnan Museum. Yunnan Provincial Museum is located on Wuyi Road, Kunming. It holds an exhibition focused on Yunnan's ethnic minorities, as well as a wide collection of artifacts from tomb excavations at Jinning on the southern rim of Dianchi Lake.

Continue to visit Green Lake. The Green Lake Park is a beautiful city park in Kunming with four sub-lakes linked by bridges in the traditional style. It is a good place to people-watch and mix with the locals. The road along the lake is awash with trendy bars, cafes and restaurants.

Finally visit Jinma Biji Memorial Archways which means "Golden Horse and Jade Rooster". The two landmark archways is the symbol of Kunming. The Golden Horse and Jade Rooster Memorial Arches are 12 meters high and 18 meters wide, with exquisitely carved beams and painted pillars. Then take a stroll along Jin Bi Road. The neighborhood is a bustling shopping place where you can explore and shop for a while.

Back to your downtown hotel at the end of the day tour.

Picked up from your downtown hotel in Kunming and head to Stone Forest ( Shilin ), about 86km to the southeast of Kunming city center. Shilin National Scenic Area covers an area of 350 km2 and is divided into seven scenic areas.

Shilin is a notable set of limestone formations, a UNESCO listed site of remarkable Karst geography. The tall rocks appear to fall down to the ground in a type of stalagmites, with many looking like petrified trees thereby creating the illusion of a forest made of stone.

At the end of the half day tour, you are transferred to Kunming airport or train station for your next destination.
