Best Travel Options between Beijing and Xian

Xian is situated about 1000 km to the southwest of Beijing. You have several options of traveling from Beijing to Xian - by plane, by daytime high-speed train, by overnight direct train, or first visit some important cities on your way before you reach Xian from Beijing.

You can make a doable Xian day trip from Beijing by flight, but we suggest you stay one or two nights in Xian to see, touch and feel the essence and highlights of Xian's long history and splendid culture. For the Beijing Xian High Speed Train, the Beijing terminus is Beijing West Railway Station, with the Xian terminus at Xian North Railway Station. The major calling points are Shijiazhuang, Anyang and Luoyang on route.

Currently there are over 10 daily high-speed trains running between Beijing and Xian. The fastest high speed train takes 4 hours and 23 minutes; the slowest takes 6 hours. You are supposed to reach the station at least half hour before departure.
