China Snow Town, also known as China Snow Village is a hot winter destination where you are said to be able to catch a glimpse of the most beautiful snow landscape (thickest and stickiest snow) in China.
The Snow Town is officially called "Shuangfeng Forest Farm", one of the 20 tree farms under the administration of Dahailin Forestry Bureau (大海林林业局) in Changtingzhen Township (长汀镇) of Hailin City (海林市), Mudanjiang (牡丹江), Heilongjiang Province in the most northern China.
The unique geographic locations of these forest farms give them much longer snowing time in a year resulting in big and heavy snow, a big draw that attracts thousands of tourists each winter season from all parts of China, especially from the Southern China and some from Southeast Asian countries where snowing is a rarity.
Two of the forest farms are much sought after by visitors are Shengfeng Forest Farm 双峰林场 (popularly known as China Snow Town) and Dongsheng Forest Farm ( also known as China Snow Valley).
China Snow Town and China Snow Valley is only 13 km apart, a 4-6 hour snow hike, which has become a most popular snow trek for winter holiday makers.
Driving from Harbin to China Snow Town takes about 6 hours, a 280 km scenic ride with much photograph opportunity.

Many visitors would prefer to share a vehicle, starting up early from Harbin, and drive to the southeast direction first to the city of Wuchang (五常).
We are passing by the city of Wuchang, 11okm southeast of Harbin. Wuchang is well known for its fine quality rice.

Along the Linping Road, at about 180km, we reach a forest farm known as Fendou Forest Farm ( 奋斗林场) where four of the passengers in my vehicle get off , where they change for another van which will bring them to China Snow Valley ( Dongsheng Forest Farm), 44 km from Fendou Forest Farm. They are going to hike from China Snow Valley to China Snow Town Tomorrow, a 13km snow hike.
At Fendou Forest Farm, a side road branches off the main road, leading to China Snow Valley. A side road leading to China Snow Valley.

Left only me and my driver -Mr. Jia, we continue to drive along the snow-covered cement road towards China Snow Town. Less vehicles and more snow on the road with more magnificent view – white clouds and azure sky.

We are driving though a forest of birch trees.

We are steadily driving up along the snow covered mountain road. We are driving up along the zigzag mountain road.

On the steep slope up, with 4 passengers having left the van, on this particular period, our van refuses to go for it is not heavy enough to grasp the ground. and our van is rotating on the same place. Mr.Jia has to put snow chains on his van.

The snow chain is on the van now
