Chengdu Lhasa 5 Day Tour

Our driver will pick you up from Shuangliu International Airport and then transfer you to your hotel. You are free to explore the city on your own.

Our driver and tour guide will pick you up from the hotel and transfer you to Shuangliu airport and catch the plane to Lhasa. After you arrive at Lhasa Gongga Airport, our driver will pick you up transfer to your Hotel. The rest of the day will be at leisure for you to relax and adjust to the high altitude.

Tour starts from The Potala Palace(3700 m ) built in the 7th century by the famous Tibetan king-Songtzen Gampo. The present one was built by the 5th Dalai Lama in the 17th century. It became known as the "Winter Palace" by the 1750, when the 7th Dalai Lama built the Norbulingka Park as his summer residence.

After you finish with Potala, you will visit The Jokhang Temple situated in the old section of Lhasa. King Songtzen Gampo built this temple in the mid-7th century A.D. Now it is the most sacred place in Tibet. Pilgrims come here to pay homage from all over Tibet. Later walk on the Barkhor Street, the most famous pedestrian of Lhasa old district. Bargaining with peddlers there to enjoy Tibetan folklore is a must program for nearly every tourists.

Full day sightseeing starting from Drepung Monastery, which is the largest monastery of the Gelug Sect in Tibet. After that, we will visit Norbulingka. In 1752, the 7th Dalai Lama built the first palace here for successive Dalai Lamas to carry out their political and religious activities during the summer season. Today Norbulingka has become a public park for picnicking, relaxing and entertaining.

Visit Sera Monastery: Located 5km north of Lhasa, this monastery was the first Gelugpa monastery in Lhasa and has remained the main seat of this major Buddhist order ever since. About 600 monks are now in residence here. Debating takes place from 3:30pm to 5pm in a garden next to the assembly hall in the center of the monastery. In the late afternoon transfer back to downtown area.

The driver and the guide pick up us at the hotel lobby, then drive to the airport for flight to the next destination.
