Northeast China 6 Day Scenic Tour

Picked up from your hotel in Beijing, you will be guided to board on a 4 and half hour high speed train to Panjin. Arriving at Panjin Railway Station, you are met by our English speaking tour guide in Panjin at the station exit.

Panjin is situated on the northern coast of Liaodong Bay of the Bohai Gulf. Panjin is famed for its red seabeach featuring the red plant of Chenopodiaceae, Suaeda salsa.

Transferred to your hotel in Panjin. You are at your leisure to take a good rest or explore the city for the remainer of the day.

After breakfast, you will head to the Red Beach Scenic Spot. It is based in the biggest wetland and reed marsh in the world. The landscape is composed of shallow seas and tide-lands. More than 260 kinds of birds and 399 kinds of wild animals live in it. Every year it attracts milions of visitors to see the mavelous scene of the red beach.

The Moon Bay Wetland is shaped like a crescent, a huge field of reeeds and other kinds of grass. Just stroll through on the boardwaks and feel the natural beauty. Reed Swamp Wetland is the largest reed swamp wetland in China. It is famed for the rare red-crowned cranes.

After Chinese lunch, transferred to Panjin Railway Station for the late afternoon highspeed train to Shenyang. Arriving at Shenyang Railway Station, met andtransferred to your hotel in Shenyang. You are at your leisure to take a good rest or explore the city for the remainer of the day.

After breakfast at your hotel, start your day tour in Shenyang. Your Shenyang day tour includes:

1. Manchu Imperial Palace

The palace complex represents the highest level art of early Manchu palace architectures and Manchu’s unique history and culture in the early stage. It is a magnificent palace that resembles a smaller Forbidden City in Beijing.

2. Former Residence of Zhang Zuolin and Zhang Xueliang

Zhang Zuolin (1875–1928) was the warlord of Manchuria from 1916 to 1928. He was killed by a bomb planted by a Japanese Kwantung Army officer on 4 June 1928. Zhang Xueliang ( 1901 – 2001 ) was the actual ruler of Manchuria and much of northern China after the assassination of his father.

3. North Tomb (Zhaoling Tomb)

Zhao Ling ( Luminous Tomb ) is the burial site of the founder of Qing Dynasty – Huang Taiji (1592 – 1643). The tomb’s animal statues lead up to a mound where the emperor and his empress were buried. The traditional architectures and ornamentation around tomb site are magnificent.

4. Zhongjie Pedestrian Street in Shenyang

It is a vehicle-free commercial street, 1500 meters long, the earliest shopping street in Shenyang and the first walking street in China. Now Zhongjie Pedestrian Street is packed with shopping malls, department stores, restaurants. Scattered in the alleys along the street you can find numerous free markets offering a great variety of goods.

At the end of your tour in Shenyang, you are returned to your hotel in Shenyang.

After beakfast at your hotel, you are transferred to Shenyang Railway Station for a 4-hour morning train to Dandong. Separated by Yalu River, Dandong is a border city opposite to Sinuiju, North Korea. The afternoon tour in Dandong includes:

Tiger Great Wall is a restored stretch of the Wall with a length of 1250 meters with a sea level of 146.3 meters. Tiger Great Wall was built in 1469, often regarded as the eastern tip the Great Wall built in Ming Dynasty. In the scenic area, there is a Great Wall Museum – Tiger Great Wall Museum, one of the four Great Wall Museums in China. Standing on the Hushan Mountain (Tiger GreatWall ) where you can have a bird's-eye view of Yalu River and the North Korean Border.

Then visit Korea War Museum, officially known as Anti-US Aggression & Aid Korea Memorial. The memorial was inaugurated in 1958 and renovated and expanded in 1984. The whole memorial comprises three principal buildings – the Memorial Pagoda, the Exhibition Hall and the life-sized Diorama Hall. The Exhibition Hall has 10 show rooms displaying over 500 valuable prictures and 1000 artifacts, reproducing the magnificent scene of the War.

At the end of the afternoon tour, you are transferred back to your hotel in Dandong.

After breakfast, continue your morning tour in Dandong. Your morning Dandong tour includes:

Have a boat trip on Yalu River. Take a speed boat from the pier for a 30-minute boat ride allowing you to have a glimpse of the North Korea's Border.

Stroll along the"Broken Birdge" , the first bridge ever built over Yalu River. It was constructed between August 1909 and October 1911, an iron bridge, 944.2 meters long, 11 meters wide with 12 arches. In December, 1950, the bridge was bombed by US Air Force during the Korean War. The bridge has been left less than halfway cross the river from Chinese riverside, hence the name of Duanqiao ( Broken Bridge). Now it has become an intriguing sight in Dandong. You can stroll along the Broken Bridge, feeling the Korean War by looking at the bullet and shell holes and bomb-damaged remains.

After lunch at a Korean Restaurant over dancing, you are free to explore the city of Dandong on your own. Then take the overnight train for Beijing. Overnight on train ( 4-bed cabin ).
