Plan your Shanghai Tour? A pilgrimage stroll on the Bund will be definitely on your bucket list, allowing you to have a glimpse of the dominating image of Shanghai - Pudong Skyline, or more exactly known as Lujiazui Skyline, a cluster of megatall skyscrapers.
Lujiazui is the core of Pudong, the new trade and financial development area on the east bank of Huangpu River, just opposite the Bund, the old financial center on the western bank of Huangpu River.

Lujiazui is rife with the futuristic, avant-garde buildings such as Shanghai Tower ( 623 meters ), Shanghai World Financial Center ( 492 meters ), Shanghai Oriental Pearl TV Tower( 470 meters ) andJin Mao Building (421 m) . Over 500 domestic and overseas financial and insurance corporations are located in Lujiazui.

The success and fast develpment of Lujiazui in the past 20 years has greatly enhanced the sightseeing tourism and business travel to Shanghai.
The iconic image of Lujiazui Skyline is the most seeking-after picture for first-time visitors to Shanghai. The beauty of Lujiazui changes with sunrise and sunset glows, daylights and night neon lights, drawing a consistent flow of tourists each day!
If your interest doesn't end up standing on the Bund with a distant view of Lujiazui Skyline, and you are hooked to go closer to the Lujiazui area, no worries, you have three options to get from the Bund to the Lujiazui area.
Basically you have three options to go from the Bund to Lujiazui packed with magatall buildings.
1. Take Subway Line 2 Just leave the Bund and walk along East Najing Road in the west direction. Soon you will see the metro sign for Line 2. Getting in and just take the subway for one station of Lujiazui in the east direction. Exit from the Exit 1 and you see the overpass ring road high above the ground, a perfect place to see the high-rises in Lujiazui.

The ferry goes every 15 minutes, the first ferry at 7:00am and the last at 7:00pm. When you get off at the other side, you may walk in the north direction for about 1 km and get to Oriental TV Tower and the core area of Lujiazui.


Nothing to see inside the tunnel except flashing lights and the tickets are very expensive: 50 yuan (single) and 70 yuan return). operating hours: 9:00 - 21:30. Add: 300, the Bund ( No.01, East Zhongshan Road, Shanghai ).
Strolling on Lujiazui Ring Road Overpass is the best way to appreciate the surrounding megatall buildings like Shanghai Tower (632 m), Shanghai World Financial Center (492 m ), Oriental Pearl Tower (467.9 m), Jin Mao Building (421 m) and other high-rise buildings.

Lujiazui Ring Road Overpass is next to the Exit No.01 of Subway Line 2, not far from the exit of Bund Sightseeing Tunnel. If you take a ferry, you need to walk about 1 km to get from the wharf to the core area of Lujiazxui.

The ring road flyover is high above the ground, traffic free, giving you much freedom to view, feel and take pictures of the megatall buildings. To the south of the flyover is Shanghai Oriental TV Tower.

The overpass extends along the century avenue. It is very convenient for visitors to see the high-rise buildings flanking the road without any traffic interference. On the east you can see the three tallest buildings - Shanghai Tower (632 m), Shanghai World Financial Center (492 m ), and.Jin Mao Building (421 m) .

If you'd like to have a panoramic view of Shanghai from one of the high buildings, you are advised to go to Jinmao Tower and take the elevator tothe 88th floor which is home to the Skywalk, a 1,520 m2 indoor observation deck with a capacity of over 1,000 people. It offers the panoramic views of Shanghai.

The 88-storey observation deck is open from 8:30am to 10:00pm. It's better to have the tower tour on a bright clear day or on a fine evening.
