It was first founded by Mrs.Liao Huanying in Chengdu 1986. Her first hotpot restaurant was located in the former imperial city of Chengdu. Her frequent clients kindly called her "Huangcheng Laoma", hence the brand name in the years followed.
In 1998, Huangcheng Laoma had its first chain restaurant in Beijing. Up to now there are 4 hotpot chain restaurants in the name of "Huangcheng Laoma" in Beijing. All the four Huangcheng Laoma Hotpot Restaurants are elegantly furnished with the taste of Sichuan style. They offer banquet rooms as well as private dining rooms.
Huangcheng Laoma offers Sichuan cuisine of hotpot with slight changes catered for the people in the north. Beside the traditional lamb and beef, it also offer a wide variety of hotpot ingredients like duck intestine, fresh tripe of cattle, goose intestine, beef throat, Chicken kidney, a beefsteak and vegetables.
