Taiyuan Long Distance Bus Station

Basically people would take highspeed trains or overnight trains to Taiyuan, then connect long-distance buses to its neighboring destinations.

There are major 4 long-distance bus stations in Taiyuan, namely, Taiyuan Long-distance Bus Station (长途汽车站), Jiannan Bus Station (建南汽车站), Taiyuan West Coach Station (太原汽车客运西站）and Taiyuan East oach Station (太原汽车客运东站).

The buses from Taiyuan Bus Station travel to Beijing, Datong, Shanghai, Xian and Zhengzhou. Beijing: Seven hours, three times a day ( 8:30am, 10:30am and 2:30pm ) Datong: 3 and half hours, every 20 minutes ( from 6:40am to 7:00pm ) Xian: 8 hours, five daily from 8:00am to 6:00pm.

The coaches from Jiannan Bus Station will go to Pingyao, Qiao Family, Qixian, Pingyao, Jiexiu and Jincheng. Pingyao: 2 hours, half-hourly from 6:00am to 7:30pm Qixian: 2 hours, half-hourly from 7:30am to 7:30pm Jiexiu: 2 and half hours, half-hourly from 7:30am to 7:30pm

The buses from Taiyuan West Coach Station will go to Qikou, Lishi. Qikou: 4 hours, one daily 10:30am Lishi: 2 hours, hourly from 7:00am to 7:30pm Lishi - Qikou: one hour, frequent 7:00am to 7:30pm
