Plan your Chengdu tour? The Giant Panda is well known all over the world. It is regarded as"living foosil". As a first-time visitor to Chengdu, you probably won't want to miss out the chance to see the cute giant pandas.
The Giant Panda Breeding Research Base is located on the mountain of Futoushan in the northern suburbs of Chengdu, about 20km northeast of downtown Chengdu. There is a wide panda ( Xiongmao ) avenue connected with the urban area.

Address: 1375 Xiongmao Ave, Chenghua District, Chengdu, Sichuan, China, 610016 Official Phone Number: 86-28-83510033 Official wensite: www.panda.org.cn
The Chengdu Giant Panda Base has the largest number of giant pandas in the world, raising more than 100 giant pandas in total.

Chengdu Giant Panda Base is not only a research institution of giant panda breeding, but also an ecological park that simulates the wild habitat of giant pandas.

Here, you can watch the pandas through fences or glass windows, and if you're lucky, watch them in the open air. If good luck follows you, you can see the newborn panda in the delivery room.
Villa 1 and Villa 2 are the habitats of adult pandas, where you can see pandas playing, eating, sleeping and other daily activities.

The moon and sun delivery rooms are the places where the giant panda is pregnant and ready for delivery and where the newborn and baby red pandas live. Every day, the newborn pandas will meet at 2 to 4 PM. The baby pandas in the moon or sun delivery room are worth a visit.
The Panda Research Base shows many practical specimens of the Giant Panda, including fossils, dissected anatomical remains, diet specimens, etc. Additionally there is a Giant Panda Museum together with research laboratories and a training center.
Walk from the panda playground to the red panda playground, basically you will encounter free-roaming red pandas and they are just as cute as giant pandas, and even more lovable.

They walk up and down at your feet, full of enthusiasm, and even stand up as they walk straight towards tourists.
