Plan your Lhasa tour? Don’t forget to have a look at Lhasa River. As you...

Sun Island and Xianzu Island have become the new residential area in Lhasa. New apartments, new houses, restaurants, shops and entertainment facilities and other buildings are popping up. The city of Lhasa is narrow and sandwiched by the mountains in the north and south. The two islands of the Lhasa River in the south of Lhasa city is a good choice of urban development.
Last August, I made a visit to Lhasa, my second Lhasa trip. This time I spent quite a lot of time wandering in the city streets, feeling the city pulse of Lhasa. I walked by the Potala Palace along Beijing Road, then joined the Outer Kora in the west, known as the Lingkhor Circuit, the longest kora in Lhasa, and walking on Lingkhor Kora from Beijing Road down to the south.
Then I walked along Tegyi Lho Ngoilam (德吉路南段) to the south and entered the east west Jingchoi Xarlam (金珠东路). South of Jingchoi Xarlam is the great river of Lhasa. I walked along the north bank of the river. To my pleasant surprise, the river area has become a sightseeing zone, clean benched, neetly cut trees, stone paved wide roads, elegantly shaped street lamps and the beautiful river itself.
Bathed in sun and breeze, I walked on the multi-colour stone paved road by the north bank of Lhasa River under blue sky dotted with white clouds. It was a fun for a river bank walking in Lhasa.

In the west, the new briage named Liuwu Bridge (柳梧大桥) spans the river. Passing over the bridge, you will soon get to Lhasa Railway Station.

One of the three bridges connects the downtown of Lhasa and the two islands in Lhasa River.
