In 1999 the Wuyishan ( Wuyi Mountain ) park zone was recognised by UNESCO as part of the world's natural and cultural heritage. Below is my suggested top 10 attractions in Wuyishan for your 2-3 day trip to the magnificent place.
There are many beautiful sceneries in Wuyi Mountain. The cliffs and waters of Wuyi Mountain are outstanding. The average height of the peaks is over 1,000 meters above sea level. Wuyi Mountain is also known for being of great historic and cultural value. The beauty of the mountain and its waters has made Wuyi known as the most attractive mountain in southeast China.

Its meandering course forms nine distinct crooks or angles . Hence its name, the Nine-Crooked Creek is flanked on either side by mountain peaks and stones of various weird shapes that are entwined with various watercourses.Each crook forms a unique picturesque and poetic landscape and each landscape has its own name. Visitors can ride on a bamboo raft to enjoy it.You can visit the Nine Crooked Creek at any time of the year, and the best time is in June and July.

This scenic area includes Tianyou Peak; Tea Cave, Yuhua Peak, Cloud Nest, Snowflake Spring, Immortal Bathing Pond, Huma Ravine and Yilan Pavilion. It is the most beautiful spot in the Wuyishan Scenic Area. There are a dozen or so caves in the area. In the mornings and evenings in spring and autumn, clouds and mist often come out of the caves, now moving among the peaks, now gathering together, and now scattering. The Blue Rock and the Pavilion Rock opposite the three caves are also noted for its rugged beauty and steepness and diversified recession structures. The hottest time to visit One Line Sky Scenic Area is from April to October.

The Wuyi Palace was first built in the Tianbao years (742-755 AD) of the Tang Dynasty and expanded to include more than 300 halls in the Song Dynasty.In mid autumn every year, sacrificial activities would be held in honor of Lord Wuyi and the Venerable Royal Lady.Currently, two dragon wells, the Wannian Palace and the Sanqing Hall are kept intact.

Hence this beautiful alpine name. The Roaring Tiger area, for all intents and purposes, is divided into small units by the rock, similar to perambulating tour routine. The routine generally circle the Roaring Tiger peak with beautiful scenes feasting your eyes one after another.

The Water Curtain Cave is formed due to the subsidence of the relatively soft rock strata of the horizontal rock strata as a result of flowing water erosion. The whole area of the cave is about 100 square meters.
Thus, unlike limestone caves, the Water Curtain Cave is spacious enough and can accommodate about one thousand people. Looking through luminous crystal and pearl-like water curtain, you can enjoy the great view of tea garden which is in the bonsai style of Wuyishan.

Dahongpao Tea, also known as the Emperor of Tea, is a lightly fermented oolong. It only grows around the Wuyishan rocks. It originated from wild rare tea plants that were found growing on the cliff of Wuyi Mountain.

You need to pay RMB 60 to visit the village as kinda of fund to support the village. Most of the young people have left from the village for bigger cities. We don’t know how long the ancient village can sustain. A Chinese speaking tour guide will be offered to show you around in case you are lost in the maze of the village.
Xiamei Village is well known for its vernacular Ming and Qing Dwellings featuring exquisite brick, stone and wood carvings. A 900 meters long man made river winds cross the village from west to east, making a landscape of water and village in southern China.
The moment you step into this canyon world, you enter a realm of gardens and waterfalls. Ancient trees with giant vines entwined thrusts into the sky. Elegant water fountains runs along the rugged surface of the mountains.Silvery water curtains bounce off the mountain just to reflect the colorful sunshine. All makes you feel you have entered a fairy land. You can go there any time of the year.

The 40-meter-wide Qinglong Waterfall at Tianzidi that cascades downhill from a height of 120 meters. The big waterfall flows swiftly and directly to the bottom of the canyon. The length is more than 200 meters; the fall is more than 120 meters. When you see the Qinglong waterfall, you will be unable to resist its natural charm. The best time for traveling Qinglong Waterfall is June to September.
