Zhang Zizhong, a native of Linqing in Shandong Province, was a famous patriotic general who fought the Japanese invaders during World WarII. In 1947, Tiesheizi Hutong in Dongcheng District was renamed Zhangzizhong lu to commemorate General Zhang Zizhong.
